Make an association from the dice – could be a word, a place, a character, a title – anything is possible! As you progress, the number of dice needing to be linked increases, which increases the difficulty – and the fun!

What’s in the box?

How to play:

You’ll need at least four players. Split into two equal teams. Take 10 random dice from the pool of dice and roll them. You’ll now have 10 words!

The amount of dice you use depends on the number of the game board track. Once you have an idea, grab the dice and pop them in front of you. You become the “ideafier”.

You’ll need to let everyone know the number of words that make up your answer. Your teammates have 30 seconds to make one guess. For example, if the dice said “yellow”, “sky”, “hot” – the association answer would be sun!

Was it the right answer? Perfect! Advance your team’s pawn to the next space. This round is complete!

Wrong answer? Yikes. The other team gets 30 seconds to agree on a guess. If they get it right, they stole your idea, and the other team advances their pawn.

The first team to reach the space in the middle of the board, wins!

How to play:

All the players, including the Boss, choose a gangster to play from those in their hand. Players then reveal their chosen gangsters by placing their cards down on the table, face up, at the same time. All the gangsters are compared with the gangster chosen by the Boss. Three outcomes are possible:

  • Your gangster has chosen to steal less than the Boss’ and so the heist is successful. Place your gangster card face up in front of you.
  • Your gangster wants to steal more than the Boss’, they are stopped. Place your gangster card face down in front of you.
  • Your gangster wants to steal the same amount as the Boss’ gangster and is successful. Place your gangster card face up in front of you. Consequently, the Boss’ gangster doesn’t manage to steal any money. The Boss must place their gangster face down in front of them.

The gangsters chosen by the Boss always manage to steal money EXCEPT when another player’s gangster tries to steal the same amount. The Boss token is passed to the next player in a clockwise direction and the next round starts.

The game ends at the end of the 12th round (or 10th for 5 players) when all your gangsters have participated in a heist. Add together the total money won from your heists (all face up cards): the player with the most money wins!

How to play:

Abandon All Artichokes is a fast-paced “deck-wrecking” card game. On your turn, carry out the following actions:

  2. Harvest 1 of the face-up cards from the garden row into your hand. This card may be played at any point during your turn.
  3. Play any number of cards from your hand. To play a card, place it in front of you and resolve its actions. Once the card has been resolved, place it face-up on top of your personal discard pile.
  4. Discard all unplayed (or unplayable) cards in your hand face-up to the top of your discard pile.
  5. Draw 5 cards from the top of your deck to refill your hand.

The last player to have petted an animal starts. Players take turns in a clockwise direction. On your turn, you complete one of two actions:

  • Choose an animal from the cards in your hand and place it face down in front of you. At any time, you can look at the cards that you have placed.
  • Take an animal card from the grid and place it face down in front of you. You must then choose an animal from the cards in your hand to place, face up, in the space left by the animal you just took. Place a mountain token from the pile on top of the animal that you moved to the grid. This token locks the animal in so it can no longer be taken.

The game ends when all players have no cards left in their hands. All the cards which are face down in front of a player are flipped face up. For every species, the player with the largest number of animals in that species wins the corresponding points.

How to play:

The starting player is the first active builder. Roll the dice and place them in the middle of the table. Then you can cross out up to two stones on your building sites. For each stone you cross out, you have to immediately take the matching die from the middle of the table and place it at the top of your playing card.

If there is no matching die, you must cross out either a stone of the same colour or joker stone in your quarry. You must cross out the coloured stones in your quarry from left to right, once you skip a stone, you cannot go back and use it.

Once a player has completed all their building works, all dice are returned to the middle of the table to be used by the next player.

If you cross out a unique symbol in a building or the last symbol in the same group, declare this to the other builders and as a reward, you can cross out the same bonus symbol on your playing card.

The round is completed when all builders have had a turn. Play continues clockwise from the first active builder they roll all the dice and continue play.

The game finishes when one of the builders has completed their second building. In order to score, each builder needs to determine the points for each of their buildings and their bonuses and enters the score on their gamesheet. The player with the highest score wins!

How to play:

Play continues with each player moving by splitting any of their stacks and moving the new stack to a new pasture. A stack is blocked when it is surrounded by opponents’ pieces or the edge and can no longer be split and moved.

Each player shuffles the 12 animals in their card colour and takes 4 of them in their hand. The 8 remaining animals – without looking at them – are placed as a face-down draw pile.

Place the heaven‘s gate card and the exclusion card in the middle of the table. Between them, leave room for five animal cards. This space is called the jostling area. Put the Beasty Bar card and the “That’s it!” card a slight distance from the jostling area.

On your turn, perform the following five actions:

  • Play a card: choose one animal card from your hand and place it face up at the end of the line in the jostling area.
  • Execute the animal action of the played card: now execute the action of the animal you just played, which is displayed on the card, if possible.
  • Carry out “reoccuring” animal actions: if the card has the reoccurring action symbol on it, carry the action out again.
  • Open heaven‘s gate and enforce the exclusion: after carrying out all recurring animal actions, you now check whether the waiting line consists of 5 animals. If there are less than 5 animals in line, nothing happens. If it does, then the first 2 animals can go through the gate and the last one in line is excluded and placed on the “That’s it!” card. The animals remaining in the jostling area are shoved toward heaven‘s gate.
  • Draw another card.

The game ends as soon as all players have completely played out their animal cards. The player who has the most guests (their own animals) in the Beasty Bar wins!

How to play:

Your goal is to win the most victory points by having the highest total score in one of the five categories: pigments, holy books, monks, manuscripts and forbidden tomes.

The game is split into two phases.

Gift phase
Allocate the designated number of cards (according to player count) and then give the remaining players an opportunity to draw a card. When you allocate a card it is placed in one of three locations:

  1. In front of the active player (face-down)
  2. Into the public space (face-up)
  3. Into the auction pile (face-down)

Once all the cards have been picked from the public space, then your turn ends. The player to the left then becomes the active player. Players continue taking turns in the gift phase until the draw pile has been exhausted.

Auction phase
Reveal the topmost card of the draw pile and lay it face up at the centre of the table. Then all players bid for the card. The highest bidder pays the bid amount by discarding a certain number of cards from their hand.

Once all the cards in the draw pile have been purchased or discarded, it’s time to add up your points for each of the five categories. The player with the highest number of points in each category wins the victory points for that category and takes the corresponding die from the Scriptorium.

When the winner of each category has been determined, the players add the numbers on their dice. You win the game if you have the most victory points!

How to play:

Taking turns and starting clockwise, each player must play at least one card from their hand onto the discard pile. The card(s) you play must either match the colour or the number of the card on top of the discard pile.

When you play your card(s), apply the card effect shown on the top card (if it has one). After all the effects triggered by the card(s) you have played, your turn ends.

Rule cards affect how each game works. There are always three in play at the start of the game and can change throughout.

A penalty requires you to draw a card. Penalties can occur in a number of ways:

  • You play a card out of turn.
  • You falsely accuse another player of making a mistake.
  • You fail to follow a rule card or game effect card.
  • You play more than one card that doesn’t share the same colour or number

The winner is the first to get rid of all their cards. They then choose whether to create a new rule card or customise a game card, making their mark on this copy of Blank forever!

Rule examples (the possibilities are endless!):

If you play two or more cards in a turn, then name a card colour which may not be played until your next turn.

If a player takes more than 5 seconds to play a card, then all other players may discard a card from their hand.

If during setup this card is revealed, then all players must take a penalty card apart from the starting player.
