Evolution: Climate Stand-Alone


A stand-alone game where players adapt their species in an ecosystem where the climate can swing between scorching hot and icy cold.

Heavy Fur and Migratory can protect your species from the cold while being Nocturnal or Burrowing will provide protection from the cruel desert sun.

How to play:

A game of Evolution: Climate takes 5 to 7 rounds. Each round consists of the following 5 phases.

Deal Cards: deal each player 4 cards, plus 1 card for each species they have in front of them. When the draw deck runs out, this triggers the final round.

Select Food Cards: every player chooses a trait card from their hand and places it face-down on the watering hole section of the climate board.

Play Cards: play as many trait cards as you want.

Modify Environment: reveal the food cards on the watering hole and complete the following steps in order:

a. Adjust the Climate
b. Trigger Climate events
c. Climate population results
d. Adjust the plant food
e. Replace the climate event card

Feeding: each player must feed one of their hungry species. Feeding ends when all species have food equal to their population, or when all hungry species are no longer able to eat. It may take several times around the table for this to happen.

When the population of any species is reduced to 0, it goes extinct.

Highest score at the end of the game wins!
